The Corrs are an Irish family band that combine pop rock with traditional Irish themes within their music. The group consists of the Corr siblings: Andrea (lead vocals, tin whistle, mandolin, ukulele), Sharon (violin, keyboards, vocals), Caroline (drums, percussion, piano, bodhrán, vocals) and Jim (guitar, piano, keyboards, vocals). I was in another studio room during the recording od of the soyndtrack to " Across the Universe" eating dinner T Bone Burnett and Jim Keltner with Mar Mann when an engineer who was working on the Bono session downstairs popped on in asking if Marc could come down and overdub an acoustic guitar part on the song. Quite a night it was!

As a boy I was greatly enamored with Rock music, yet I didn't grasp why. After completing military service, I got my degree in medicine, giving me the opportunity to take a few courses illuminating the contribution of the many cultures who directly contributed to what became Rock music. Rock and Roll, I believe, represents that which is 'both' the best and worst aspects of American culture respectfully. America's incorporative nature and it's detrimental embracement of immediate gratification. Saw this song performed by Stewart and Wood on the East and West coasts. The bitter, sweet memories associated with this song are indelibly seared on my psyche.
